We are looking for a Director of Corporate Development (hybrid) to join our team!

Join our energetic team at Kindred Home Care, a rapidly expanding company that has skyrocketed from delivering 200,000 hours of care annually in 2013 to 1,200,000 hours in 2023 with a workforce of nearly 1000 passionate employees.

Our compact, spirited team is fueled by the thrill of tackling major new challenges. Our ambition is bold: by 2030, we aim to offer 3,600,000 hours of care each year across multiple provinces/states.

In tandem, our affiliate, GOJI Living, is a growing real estate company in the multifamily space. Our current portfolio consists of contemporary apartment complexes in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. Our target is to scale this to $100 million AUM by the end of 2025.

We’re in search of a dynamic, seasoned Director of Corporate Development who has a passion for mergers and acquisitions and excels in a rapid-paced setting.

We seek an exceptional leader to spearhead our company's audacious expansion plans via strategic acquisitions.

This prominent role entails driving our inorganic growth strategy, meticulously identifying potential targets, conducting thorough evaluations, skillfully negotiating terms, and seamlessly integrating acquired companies into our fold. This role may require occasional on-site work at our offices in Saint John and Halifax, as well as potential travel to target locations as needed.

Strategic focus

  • Align acquisitions with long-term growth strategy;
  • Source potential targets, build a robust pipeline;
  • Conduct due diligence, assess targets;
  • Determine fair value, structure deals;
  • Negotiate and finalize acquisitions;
  • Integrate target companies seamlessly;
  • Facilitate smooth post-merger transition;
  • Respond to Canadian government RFPs;
  • Conduct due diligence and run acquisition processes on real estate opportunities.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, or a related field;
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field, MBA preferred;
  • CPA Designation, preference for those who hold active Chartered Financial Analysts (CFA) designation;
  • A demonstrated track record of successful M&A transactions;
  • Deep understanding of financial modeling, valuation methodologies, and deal negotiation;
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills;
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport with potential targets and stakeholders;
  • Knowledge of healthcare-specific regulations and compliance requirements;
  • Experience in the healthcare industry, ideally in the home care sector an asset.
